Strengthening Industry Knowledge Through CPD: A Visit from Tiflex Ltd.

At STC, we are always looking for meaningful ways to enhance the learning experience for both our team and our learners. Creating real connections between training environments and the ever-evolving construction industry is at the heart of what we do, and last week’s visit from Tiflex was a perfect example of this in action.

We were delighted to welcome Phil from Tiflex, who delivered an engaging and highly informative Continuing Professional Development (CPD) session for our construction team. The session focused on Anti-Vibration, Movement, and Thermal Isolation Solutions – a critical area of modern construction that plays a vital role in building performance, safety, and longevity.

Phil shared in-depth industry knowledge, practical insights, and real-world applications that brought these concepts to life. The session offered valuable learning that directly translates to what happens on-site. These are the kinds of insights that go beyond textbooks, helping bridge the gap between theory and hands-on practice.

For our team, sessions like these are incredibly important. They ensure that our tutors remain up to date with current industry standards, innovations, and best practices. This knowledge is then passed through to our learners, helping them develop not only the technical skills needed for their trade but also a deeper understanding of why those skills matter in real working environments.

As a training provider delivering government-funded construction courses, our goal is to prepare learners for successful, long-term careers. Partnering with industry experts like Tiflex allows us to enrich our curriculum with relevant, up-to-date content that reflects what employers truly expect on-site. It’s all about giving our learners a competitive edge and the confidence to step into the workplace fully prepared.

We strongly believe that knowledge is power, and opportunities like this CPD session are a powerful reminder of how continuous learning drives both personal and professional growth. By staying connected with industry leaders, we ensure our training remains dynamic, relevant, and aligned with real-world demands.

Of course, the day wasn’t just about learning! We’d also like to extend a big thank you to Tiflex for providing a fantastic lunch for our team. It was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture that helped create a relaxed, positive atmosphere and gave everyone the chance to reflect on the session and continue discussions informally.

We’re incredibly grateful to Phil and the wider Tiflex team for their time, expertise, and ongoing support. Collaborations like this play a key role in strengthening the quality of training we deliver and ultimately support the success of our learners.

We look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with industry partners and bringing more opportunities like this to our team and learners in the future.
