How to Report a Safeguarding Concern
Safeguarding Policy
At The STC Group, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone who uses our services. Our Safeguarding Policy outlines the steps we take to protect individuals from abuse, neglect, and harm. Safeguarding is a collective responsibility, and we encourage anyone with concerns to report them immediately.
What to Do if You Suspect Abuse or Neglect
If you believe that you or someone you know is being abused or neglected, it’s important to speak up. You can tell someone you trust—this could be The STC Group, a friend, a tutor, a family member, a social worker, a doctor, a police officer, or anyone else you feel comfortable confiding in. Remember, abuse or neglect is never your fault, and reporting it can help stop the harm. You can ask someone to assist in making a complaint or reporting the issue.
We understand that it can be very difficult and distressing to raise concerns about abuse or neglect. Making the right decision can be stressful, especially if the person affected is reluctant to accept help. If you’re unsure of what to do, don’t hesitate to seek advice from someone you trust. You are never alone in handling these situations, support is available and there are steps we can take to ensure protection and care.
How to Report Abuse or Neglect
If you need to report a crime or any immediate danger, take action without delay:
- In an emergency, contact the police by calling 999.
- If the person is not in immediate danger, but you’re still concerned, contact the police at 101.
Our Policy is designed to act quickly and effectively when there are concerns about abuse or neglect. At The STC Group, we believe in protecting the most vulnerable and ensuring that every individual is safe from harm.
Supporting You Through Safeguarding
We are committed to offering guidance and support during difficult times. Our Policy ensures that all concerns regarding abuse or neglect are taken seriously and handled with care and professionalism. Safeguarding isn’t just about raising concerns—it’s about taking action to protect individuals and ensuring they receive the support they need.
