Bricklaying
ONE, TWO, THREE & FOUR WEEK COURSES AVAILABLE (with optional Level 1 Accreditation)
These bricklaying courses provide the opportunity to develop the underpinning knowledge and skills that will prepare you for employment within the building and general construction sectors as a Bricklayer. You will learn a broad range of bricklaying skills and techniques that make you attractive to employers in the Construction industry. You will develop your practical skills and knowledge through a range of units and learn how to construct a range of building projects.

What could this course lead to?
You may cover the following, depending upon the length of your chosen course:
- Health and Safety issues
- Understanding of how to select and maintain tools including gauge, plumb line, and level and how to use them safely and effectively
- Marking out – chalk lines and mortar lines
- Knowledge of bricks and blocks (and mixes, mortar and bonds) and how to lay them properly, including building a variety of low walls, with 90 degree corners and two brick pillars
- Simple foundations
- Toothing technique
- More advanced bricklaying techniques such as arches and patterns
Course Length: Choose from 1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks.
Accreditation: Cskills L1 Accreditation is available
Location: Harold Wood, Essex
Funded Option: AEB for people on certain benefits
A natural progression would be an NVQ qualification which is assessed in the workplace.
